LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR TO OPEN RUSSO’S NEW YORK PIZZERIA – AGREEMENT SIGNED TO BRING FAST CASUAL ITALIAN CONCEPT TO AUSTIN

October 1, 2015

AUSTIN, Texas – Original dining experience and signature restaurant concept Russo’s New York Pizzeria readies itself to serve the residents and visitors of Austin authentic Italian meals come late 2015.

Local resident and experienced restaurateur Amin Esar has signed a franchise agreement with Russo’s Restaurants to open a Russo’s New York Pizzeria in Austin. The well-known Houston-based Italian restaurant will offer lunch and dinner with the options of dining in, carrying out, delivery, and catering. This will be Austin’s first Russo’s New York Pizzeria, with another location situated nearby in Pflugerville and another on the way in Cedar Park.

“Austin has an undeniable demand for a genuine Italian dining experience, and we offer original family recipes that visitors and locals alike will find themselves craving,” said Chef Anthony Russo, founder and CEO of Russo’s Restaurants. “The residential and commercial districts of Austin are growing at a great pace and we’re happy to be a part of this thriving city.”

After almost 15 years in the restaurant business, Esar knows his trade well. He brings extensive experience as a restaurant owner and enjoys being a part of everyday operations in the restaurant and interacting with the customers. Esar’s work in the industry and his familiarity with his customers makes him an ideal choice for a Russo’s franchisee. “With Amin at the helm of operations here in Austin, we’re confident that our New York-style pizza and handcrafted recipes will reach an entirely new section of loyal fans,” said Chef Anthony.

The Russo’s name has become synonymous with New York-style pizza and authentic Italian meals. Beyond the brand’s specialty pizzas, menu items include fresh salads (insalata), soups (zuppe) and homemade pastas. Authentic Italian cannoli, fresh seafood, chicken, veal and flatbread sandwiches are just some of the distinctive dishes on the menu.

The majority of Russo’s Restaurants locations are in south central Texas. There are additional multi-unit franchise opportunities throughout Texas, in the Greater Houston market, as well as San Antonio, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth.

“We are continuing to advance our strategic growth plan in 2015 with plans to add 20 to 30 restaurants in the next three years. The new phase of franchising will more than double our number of international locations,” said Jim Carr, director of franchise development for Russo’s Restaurants. “In addition to the Middle East markets, we are in early discussions with developers in France, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines and China.”

Today, Russo’s New York Pizzeria has garnered a cult-like following for its truly authentic and delicious Italian dishes made from the freshest ingredients and its New York-style pizza. The restaurant blends premium recipes with the magic created around a homemade Italian meal.
